Summer Campfire & Agave Spirits Agave Shawii Conservation Collection

Agave Shawii Conservation Collection

$119.00

Meet Agave shawii — a rare native agave that once blanketed the coastlines of Baja and Southern California.

Pollinated by bats, rooted in Indigenous foodways, and nearly lost to development.

Only two small U.S. populations of Agave shawii remain — one with just a single plant. In Mexico, it’s still abundant but threatened by coastal development. Subspecies shawii is listed as endangered by the California Native Plant Society and IUCN.

This collection celebrates its legacy, and supports it’s future.

We made a sweatshirt that tells the story of Agave shawii.

✍️ Each one links to a digital animation about the plant’s history, culture, and connection to place.

A live Agave Shawii plant. Plant it in your garden, or donate for us to plant.

🌿 A native plant. A cultural symbol. A wearable call to remember.
