Exploring & Celebrating Agave Culture, Craft & Cultivation

Agave is resilient. So are we.

Full of Spirit

The Agave Lab is an agave-centric educational farm project in San Diego County. We grow over 20 species of agave, including native California and Southwestern US varieties that have been traditionally used for food, medicine, fiber, and spirits.

Our mission is to inspire innovation and build community around these ancestral plants through regenerative farming, creative storytelling, unique design, and hands-on experience. We aim to slow down, reconnect, celebrate, and savor the world around us.

WOW, AGAVE!

Agave is more than a plant; it’s a symbol of resilience and sustainability. We’re exploring how agave can be a regenerative dryland crop, providing resources and materials for a range of products from distilled spirits to textiles, surfboards, building materials, fuels, and medicine.

Agave inspires a path forward. one rooted in tradition, adapted for arid climates, and urgently relevant in the face of climate change.

We’re creating a model for regenerative agriculture that thrives where other crops fail.

Shop Our Offerings

Our limited-edition collections feature handmade, foraged, and upcycled goods, crafted to support ritual, ecology, and a deeper connection in the everyday. These are practical, beautiful things to use and enjoy, rooted in land and story. They’re invitations to slow down, pay attention, and engage with the present moment.

Our collections support the regeneration of soil, culture, and the small rituals that make us feel more human. We partner with companies doing work rooted in a common ethos. Collaboration and shared values are at the heart of what we do.

Events

We host immersive, small-scale experiences rooted in plants, culture, and connection — from farm dinners and agave tastings to ancestral skills workshops and “sacred s’mores” nights. Every event is designed to educate, inspire, and reconnect.
